Popping Boba, What's All The Rage?

Popping Boba, What's All The Rage?

Popping boba, bursting boba, exploding boba, you've probably heard at least one of these terms somewhere.

Is there a difference between them? No, not in any real way at least. Various dessert brands, companies and shops like to change the name depending on the branding of their company. But that's not what we are here to talk about!

A short definition of popping boba from yours truly could be summarized as... Unbelievably delicious gelatinous orbs filled with sweet tastebud stimulating juice. Much like the bursting boba, this off the top of the head definition is quite a mouthful.

Popping boba is most often found in frozen yogurt shops and bubble tea stores. But... it is a dessert topping truly worthy of anything that goes well with an extra dose of sweetness.

You can be fairly certain that anyone who tries them, will be amazed by them. They are quite an intriguing topping. While they feel a little like gelatin, they are softer and more smooth. Even more amazing, is the fact that they are vegan (and gluten free). Mostly made out of a plant based material.

These boba balls are strong enough to lift and eat with a spoon, yet as soon as you bite down, BOOM! Sweet juice fills your mouth and ignites the senses.

Personally I love them on frozen desserts such as ice cream. The outer shells become a little more firm, and the sweet juice has an icy chill that will make anyone want more.

Every ice cream, froyo shop, or other dessert store that carries our popping boba, sells out extremely quickly. This is because once someone tries them, it's difficult to go without them on your next dessert outing.

If you weigh your frozen treats prior to selling, popping boba is a huge bonus. People tend to pile on the juice filled balls, especially if you have more than one flavor. Don't have too many flavors out at once, or people will have a harder time making a decision, but 1 or 2 is perfect.

Often times dessert shops offer a vegan and/or gluten free option. However topping options can be limited when it comes to vegan/GF options. But as we mentioned, our popping boba are both! They contain ZERO dairy, egg, gluten, seafood, and are cholesterol and fat free. Because of this we recommend putting a small V/GF symbol on this topping.

If you want to give popping boba a try, you can view our current inventory here. Please keep in mind that due to the delicate nature of shipping them, they must be sold by the pallet. But they are well worth it!
