Atmosphere is important!

Atmosphere is important!

What does your frozen dessert shop say about you?

A massive part of why people go out to restaurants, whether it's for food or desserts, is for the atmosphere! A nice change in scenery once in a while can flood the brain with endorphins put someone in a great mood.

Especially when they are enjoying one of your frosty treats.

For you the business owner this also means an increase in sales. When people are happy and like their surroundings, they are more likely to make a purchase, and purchase more at a time.

People rely on their senses to make decisions, we are sensory creatures by nature. So paying close attention to the decor, flow and "vibe" of your shop is super important.

Read Below for 3 tips on improving the vibe of your store!

Here are a few quick and easy tips to help generate the perfect atmosphere in your shop.

1. Make sure your music is right for your customer base, staff, and general aesthetic of your dessert shop. More importantly certain music can cause people to either leave more quickly, or stay longer and purchase more.

For example, fast paced music has been proven to increase consumers heart rates and general thought patterns. This causes them to eat more quickly, thus leaving quicker.

This works in your favor if you are trying to get people in and out quickly. But if you want them to stay longer, play something a little more... chill...

2. Decor can make all the difference! Themed stores typically have higher customer retention and a larger volume of foot traffic. This is usually because people are curious by nature and want to explore new fascinating things.

This does not mean you have to theme your shop like the lost city of Atlantis or anything. But if possible you should color coordinate and decorate in a coordinated way.

A good step to take is utilizing basic color theory. Certain colors work well together contrasting or matching in ways that are visually pleasing. While others do not.

Most importantly maintain consistency in your stores theme and utilize various cupsspoons, and containers that match the decor.

3. Staff outfits! Ideally your staff will have at least a t-shirt with your brands colors and logos on it. Worst case scenario, everyone wears the same colors and those colors MUST match your shops theme!

You want your staff to look as friendly and inviting as possible, while still maintaining some professionalism. But don't make it too serious! Frozen treats are fun, it's not a law firm after-all.
